Remembering Together
Some days carry a weight that never really leaves us. September 11 is one of those days.
Even after twenty-four years, we pause, we remember, and we feel the echoes of loss and resilience. It is a day of silence and reflection, a day when we recall where we were, who we were with, and how the world shifted.
For me, remembrance is not only about looking back—it’s about carrying forward. We honor those we lost by choosing to live fully, to create, to love, and to keep telling the stories that matter.
Stories give shape to remembrance. They allow us to hold memory in our hands, to pass it on, to teach, and to heal. Each time we share where we were, what we felt, or how we changed, we are adding another thread to the tapestry of collective memory.
As a writer, I often return to this truth: words have the power to keep us connected. And on days like today, connection is what matters most.
What I’m Working On
In the midst of reflection, my writing continues. I’m editing The Taste of Crimson: Angyel, polishing my prairie-inspired poetry collection Raised by Wind, and working on new pieces for my upcoming collection The Sacred Bruise. Each project, in its own way, is about memory—what we hold on to, and how we transform through it.
