Autumn Spotlight
Wright Appearance + a Poem Close to My Heart
Hi friends,
There’s something about autumn that makes everything feel a little richer. The air sharpens, the skies deepen, and stories—especially the quiet ones—start to rise like breath on cold mornings.
This month, I’m excited to share two things that mean the world to me:
📍 I’ll be appearing at the Wright Vendor Show on November 16!
If you’re local to the area, I’d love to see you there. I’ll have copies of The Shape of Healing available, plus some free goodies at my table. These events are always a joy—not just for books, but for conversations, connections, and community.
📅 Wright Vendor Show – Nov 16
🕘 2 PM, The Multipurpose Building at 1233 East Elkhorn Dr, Wright, WY
📚 The Shape of Healing – Available at the table
🖋️ A Poem from the Pages
This one’s personal. It’s for two of my favorite companions—my dogs, Ninja and Sassy. Like the drink it’s named after, Black & Tan is about contrast, balance, and the beauty of two spirits moving as one.
Black & Tan
Side by side, they race the dawn,
paws drumming soft across the lawn.
One like shadow, sleek and sly,
the other warm as fire-lit sky.
Ninja, silent, sharp, and still
a streak of dusk with watchful will.
He moves like mist, a whispered thread,
a flicker caught just as it fled.
Sassy, golden, wild, and bright,
a spark that spins the edge of light.
Bounding, turning, full of play,
a rebel sun that won’t obey.
Bound in rhythm, light and shade,
a harmony that won’t be made.
They chase the breeze, the day, the sound,
a tether formed without a bound.
Like the drink whose name they share,
a blend of bite and something rare.
Dark and gold in fluid spin,
where one may pause, the next begins.
Through every path, through mud or calm,
they walk with joy wrapped in their charm.
Ninja. Sassy. Black and Tan—
my storm, my peace, my every plan.

Sassy and Ninja—my golden spark and shadow-silent guardian. The heart behind Black & Tan, side by side as always. 🐾🖤💛
What’s Next:
I’m editing The Taste of Crimson: Angyel, and outlining Marcie’s story. The pages are messy. The characters are loud. But this story? It’s still unfolding beautifully.
Thank you for being here, for reading, and for walking this path with me.
With warmth,
Amy
